Goatoberfest Returns to Goat Island Brewing September 25–26

There’s just something about fall in Cullman that calls for cold beer, German food, live music, and a little friendly competition.

That’s exactly what we have planned for Goatoberfest 2026, happening Friday, September 25, and Saturday, September 26, at Goat Island Brewing on John Cooper Drive.

For two days, we’ll be bringing a little bit of Bavaria to the brewery — Goat Island style.

Two Days of Live Music

We’ll get things started Friday night with The Overtones.

Saturday is packed with music throughout the day, including Justin and Tab, The Daltons, Sipsey Falls, and one of our favorite parts of Goatoberfest — the Cullman German Band. If you’ve ever heard a German brass band playing while you’re holding a cold Oktoberfest, you already know why they belong at this event.

German Food and, Of Course, Oktoberfest Beer

Come hungry.

We’ll have a German meal featuring favorites like Wiener schnitzel, beer brats, German potato salad, and more.

And it wouldn’t be Goatoberfest without Goat Island Oktoberfest. We brew this beer for exactly this time of year — a smooth, malty German-style lager made for raising a glass with friends.

Bring the Whole Family

Goatoberfest isn’t just a beer festival. We want it to be something the whole family can enjoy.

There will be face painting, friendly goats, local vendors, plenty of music, food, and room to spend the afternoon with friends and family.

And yes, the goats usually attract as much attention as the beer.

Think You Can Hold Your Stein?

At 6:00 Saturday evening, things get serious.

We’ll hold our men’s and women’s stein-hoisting competitions, where contestants will see who can hold a full beer stein straight out in front of them the longest.

It sounds easy.

It isn’t.

Even better, the winners will qualify for the state championship at Cullman Oktoberfest.

So if you’ve been looking for an excuse to start training with a beer mug, you now have one.

Goatoberfest has become one of those events that captures what we like most about having a brewery in Cullman: good beer, good music, families together, a little German heritage, and a lot of people simply enjoying themselves.
